Golden Glow 03:22
Falling from the treetops Breaking bones, but you don't stop The ground keeps hitting harder getting older, gravity pulls stronger Eroding as the winds burn Falling rocks of what you once heard You can't let your cliffs come down Don't crush cars with your cynicism now We all want to be young and wild We all want to know that we know it We all want to be young and wild We all can't seem to let go of this Oh you worried eyes, Oh you tattered stars Don't be afraid to let them know you're scarred With your work worn hands and your hardened hearts let your alignment be warmed in the golden glow IN THE GOLDEN GLOW We all want to be young and wild We all want to know that we know it We all want to be young and wild We all can't seem to let go of this

Machetes 03:20
Someone pulled the ol' bait and switch on us, didn't they? or perhaps it's the nature of things to become what they once were not. for something beautiful slowly will become something plain and ordinary When you stare in the mirror can you still see yourself? or staring back at you, is there something else do you ignore the change and pretend it's all the same? How am I not myself? In a dark and hopeless mess there are two shades of wrong we choose to align with and both are leading us deep into the precipice of confusion and control in a world full of questions and mysteries and concerns everyone's barking up their own tree at their own little kittens they believe to be monsters saviors bringers of the end how am I not myself vision is fleeting my heart is beating but to a different drum it might seem and my heart is tearing between those ensnaring and those pushing pushing pushing me around

In a single drop In a single drop The waves will crash and wash away to leave a maze for us to play In a moment gone in a moment gone the words broke through, they broke you too cannot be fixed with tape and glue In a life of woe In a life of woe The sun will only choose to shine When I choose yours and you pick mine In a single drop In a single drop In a single drop the galaxy will spin and dance and sing with me How can you not see The beautiful artistry Hidden in our chemistry How can you not see The magical mystery I n this microscopic sea and falling all around? So much to be found The light bends to the universe hidden in the falling rain The rain contains truth falling all around The truth shown to the light as it passes through it learns of you Oh you! gave light the message In colors of the rainbow, our story is told Our lives, our frail skeletons Want the comfort of the deepest sea The sea, stores up the truth never meant for you and me You see, there is life left here to live so open up your eyes and sing sing loud, sing wild with me oh wont you sing with me?

Imago Dei 05:18
Its a discarded mess of energy that crafts the northern lights It was a broken and hurting man that lit the alter bright He was depressed and suicidal the day the chariot arrived If Elijah could ride through the colored sky think you will survive It's a dark and swirling vortex so vast and unexplored when his master stepped onto the sea he saw his faith restored so if you see your dreams awaken far out across the sea don't let men and insecurity cause you to sink into the deep For they may call you broken They just don't know how you work when you're kicked out of temples know that you are not the first for if you feel abandoned don't let law and stubborn cries keep you from knowing loves been there since you first opened your eyes The dirt that tracks your footsteps is older than the lies That society will scream at you until you break down and die The same dust filled the travelers lungs as the leaders ignored his shame till the pariah of his time and place shared in the suffering and pain It's the feeling of rejection It's the unfair, unbalanced song whether the brother who left for pleasure or the one who stayed home strong No matter where your choices take you you will always have a home and no matter what they think of it in their judgment, find shalom For they may call you broken They just don't know how you work when you're kicked out of temples know that you are not the first for if you feel abandoned don't let law and stubborn cries keep you from knowing loves been there since you first opened your eyes Vagabond and ceo the wretched and the wise are a part of this great image of the mysterious divine At times we are both saint and sinner and when divided down it shows we are beloved creation and we all have room to grow

Flipping through the worn out pages cryptic texts from ancient skies watch the men map out our futures Screaming out their battle cries We adopted the ways of progress Closed eyes to the truth unseen Lost track of the mystic rhythm that runs through our idle dreams I find that there is something more powerful than war that holds a special pardon to the hopeful, yet unsure as I lose myself in doubting I finally find faith In the arms of enigmatic you Chorus: I don't want to see my love for you become some petty reason to dream of things greater than life can bring I don't want to be a beggar bargaining my own sense of right and wrong for stability and fortunes song Sometimes I wish we could see You never meant to make a path The hidden fruit is far more sweet When lips were first stung by the wrath of bramble bush and thorny vine Take our medicine away He came to save us from solution Bring life from rot and decay I find there is something more meaningful than truth That I have only ever seen in letting go of you For my mind tends to twist you and warp until it fits stop myself from finding definition (Chorus) Let the birds cry out for freedom from what we will always have our understanding keeps us searching in the wrong direction Let the mountains stand unwavered in assurance most profound not worried of time and roses epitaphs and broken ground Let go and find all that you'll never know Let go and find that you're never alone Let go and find all that you'll never know Let go, Let go, Let go.... we are nothing more than bonds and entropy find truth in letting go We are loved and labored bonds and entropy find truth in letting go we are made of relation and energy find truth in letting go we are nothing more than bonds and entropy

You are the love I always knew You are the hope I needed You are a simple kind of truth You are the love I always knew I would be lost without this home I can never keep my eyes open I figure the head and not the heart I would be lost without this home You sing the sunshine I laugh strife small She prays understanding We breathe in it all She has the love I desire She is the breath to my exhale She needs your smile like the air She has the love that I desire You sing the sunshine I laugh strife small She prays understanding We breathe in it all We are more than ever we could be We what I cannot seem to hold We are the gift I cherish most We are more than ever we could be

The Magician 06:37
With a wave of a wand and some slick slight of hand You could dazzle my mind, I just can't understand what broke your will, to the point of no return Disappeared in a moment, no mirrors or smoke On a stage with no audience, and no chance to choke No-one wants to be, a burden to those they love The smoke will still linger, long after it burnt out like a candle, covered in dirt the women will cry, as the children ask where did you go I try to attempt, I try to understand how the trick could have worked, what was hid in your hands There's just one remainder, the fact that won't fit the equation If love, instead of liquor was fully supplied maybe we could have extended, our fleeting time with the man and the magic, the truth can be tragic you know The magician was always a tenant you see to the selfish landlord, who cared more for money than the blood than ran through, both of their veins and their hearts The landlord, so wild can always proclaim: I did not pull the trigger! I am free from all blame! But you know God damn well, that you put the gun in his hand. The human inside wants to believe in hell for your kind of evil needs somewhere to dwell I try so hard for forgiveness, but end up with nothing but rage Because he'd still be alive, if you tried once to show a bit of fucking compassion, you let the pain grow your shallow attempt to find faith will be judged oh, you see So go back to pretending you even once gave a shit about the man and the magic and the family you quit long before you broke all your promises and spent all the checks

Hands 05:10
The negative ending shouldn't change the beauty of beginnings Selfish heartbreak should never conquer the start of truest love No matter how it came to fall apart remember There is something still hidden there In your first touch In your first touch Hands grasped around each other intertwined like roots of weeds The spark held in the spaces deep down in between Not measured in time and space and consequence Only in fingertips and whispers and things left unsaid Our hands hold the maps to our beginnings Our hands hold the path to good times lost to good times lost Leave out the ill intentions Set aside the broken bones Let the heart fly back like butterflies once found home inside your chest fly back like butterflies Our hands hold the maps to our beginnings Our hands held, kept the love alive Our hands held, kept us believing Our hands hold the path to good times lost to good times lost to good times There is no way out of the pain There is no way out of the pain Trace back from where you came Follow the fingerprints Follow the lines to futures past Follow the fingerprints to make it last to bring it back

Taverns 04:03
Let the magic men begin Their show to entertain the kin The folk of legend gather round To hear their sounds of breaking down Liquor keeps us clapping along The desperation hidden in our songs Ignored by the kings of great empires Burnt out by our own dwindling fires Our minds give us power to the magic we hold As the rest of the world passes by our souls but here in the tavern heroes among swine I'll here out your story, if you will hear mine I am the meddling master of capricious cacophony take a look at my weather worn pages of stories spanning centuries These pages hold the lyrical, empirical soul Higher held than the law that maniacs contort and control I am a ghost amongst the masses screaming and shaking my fists silenced by a lack of ego and narcissistic arrogance To the mediocre seas who claim to be royal Your drownings can not reach deep roots inside supportive soil Lost to the same sea, to the same hurt to different situations, but the same result We are all but lost, help me to find my way out We are all but lost, Give me a moment of your time...it's all I am asking We are all but lost, More than ever, I need to keep moving on! We are all but lost, More than ever, ever and again Never stay in the same place Never stay in the same place Never stay in the same place Never stay in the same place Lest your comfort keep you from the adventure waiting

Floating 05:35
In the morning through the wet grass My feet grew colder, as I walked fast Looking for old trees, Searching for new paths Making our memories, Like foothold traps The forest breathes deep, our favorite love song The clever cage set, to keep the world wrong Inside the darkness or in the suns light without a whisper, assurance held tight My-----My love will never falter, fall or break Your-----Your beauty is something time will never take We------We may fall short, but we will never find the ground Our-------Our love keeps us floating Crash into your shore, over and always No matter what hurt, fractured bones break As does the lycanthrope, moved by the moons guide So will my heart go, where your shores rise And so it takes us, back to the very start To find at all costs, the once torn apart Running 'cross borders, and through the hostile grounds Until I find you, until you come back round. So know no matter what comes before our path I will always find a way, to make sure we last The traps are all set, the world it still turns Even as the fires burn us down, shall we forever return My--------------My love will never falter fall or break And your-----------your beauty is something none will ever take And we-----We may fall short, but we will never find the ground for our-----our love keeps us floating, it keeps us floating

There was a time before our scene was set My eyes fixed on the stars the day our hands met Love born in our first touch even though it’s so cliché But that’s the way things tend to be so I guess it’s all okay In a ragged tent underneath the northern lights Cuddled close to hold in heat illuminated by the sky so bright A wide array of vivid hues an illusion or a mystery And at that moment, but seemed just fine to me I went across the ocean you stayed back at home You sat patiently by a tired and ring-less phone Surviving bullet wounds and battlefields and wars bitter strife Came home and I came to find the separation took your life The sun shines brightly, juxtaposing the tears I’ve cried The black of my suit coat reflects the emptiness inside As I conjure the courage to say my last goodbye Though we may pass away our love will never die

There is a whisper in the wind I once knew there is comfort in the sound of truth But everything goes by in waves and I can't see the shore the water spins like acrobats high above the ocean floor I believe it's in the simplest things that we find peace and the one thing that we ever need let go of the tempting call of these voices shouting that you need to be Far to go, now the waters have found their calm The tranquil sea parts gently as I travel ever on slowly not to break the moment of serenity My destination waits but I need this moment with the sea

Love will come to take us home but is it where we want to go? Is it where we want to go? G‐d is in the everywhere but we ever seem to care? Do we ever really care? I know this must sound so hard, but we must let down our guards to find a love uncompromising Love will come to take us home Home is where the heart resides so where does your heart lie? Where does your heart lie? I find the truth tougher than lies for it only hurts my pride Like a spear right through my side I know this must sound so hard, but we must let down our guards to find a love uncompromising Love will come to take us home Love will come to take me home but is it where I want to go? Is it where I want to go? And home is where my heart resides and now it's time to make things right Dear G‐d I hope I things right I know this must sound so hard, but we must let down our guards to find a love uncompromising Love will come to take us home

Goodnight, Goodnight The clouds start weeping Birthright, Birthright Grace finds you fleeing Tonight, Tonight You dropped your reason to run Goodbye, Goodbye Your reality will keep me For we are sleeping ghosts The lions roar will call us through heavens tears and bramble we travel on, travel on For we are lock and key Rusted by the drops of rainbows Through a drop refracted, truth shows Let me rest my head For I traveled till the sunset Torchlight burns low, singing sonnets to lull you and your mysteries to sleep Goodnight, Goodnight May our bonds eternal keep us close Till death no longer can dare to boast For love, the victor rescued most of all my long lost heartfelt hopes The peace of rest, that matters most Goodnight.

Sun shines over the day Sun shines over the day I wish I could stop thinking of the inevitable grey Sun shines over the day Clouds form over the hill Clouds form over the hill You can't predict the lightning bolts Or when the storm will still Clouds form over the hill For winds will blow fierce the sideways rain into driftwood shelters, through open window panes We cannot plan for the bite of natures wrath or lose the thought of damaged broken paths Oh....we can't know Oh....so we grow There's no good time to go There's no good time to go If you do your job then they will break and crash and know there is no good time to go Stretch out and take the light Stretch out and take the light Better to break and bend then to hide inside the night Stretch out and take the light Four winds collide, all directions in the storm The pain overwhelms, and leaves become torn But if you make it through, to see sun shine bright Then let love carry you, broken and bruised, into the light Oh......we can't know Oh.......so we grow So find it in the sun, find it in the rain find it in the storms, find it in the pain Find it in our love, find it in our shame Find you in sun, find you in the rain. Find you in everything.

A man A man died A man died today A man died today A good man died today and evil man died today a good good man died today which side do you stand on? Look down, at the blood on your hands does it fulfill the hunger your vengeance demands? And you all cheer you all cried out in joy We watch the mighty fall Feel better, Feel nothing at all Barbarians and Gladiators What makes Abraham so primal? Son and Sodomite Terrorists and firefight Abortion, Execution Genocide, Institution Who will cry at the devils funeral?

We're never satisfied with where we are Like barking dogs begging to come in and out again Looking through rear-view mirrors at the streets we left behind missing the scenery we came for Trapped in memories that turn into regrets Forsake the point for the score unsettling We hold onto nightmares that long ago were once our dreams if we could wake and see the life we've always had Living in the past Living in the future Flirt with the way our lives could never be Living for ourselves as we rip our sutures bleed out abandon hope for today There is no somewhere over that rainbow No Technicolor land filled with all your lost dreams The grass could be much greener, if you tended to your gardens instead of trampling your seedlings to get a glimpse over the fence Living in the past Living in the future Flirt with the way our lives could never be Living for ourselves as we rip our sutures bleed out abandon hope for today WHY DO WE FIGHT KNUCKLES BARE AND BLEEDING WHY DO WE YEARN FOR TRAVELS BACK TO SIMPLE TIMES WHY DO WE BEAT AND BRUISE EVERYTHING WE HAVE BEEN GIFTED OUR FUTURES RUINED BY OUR DESIRE FOR IT we're so blind to what we have we're so blind to what we have we're so blind to what we have we're so blind to what we have we're so blind to what we have we're so blind to what we have

about

"It made me feel like I attended a rave with Finn and Jake."

"Joy, pain, sorrow, love and inquisition are prevalent in each note in 'Through A Drop, Refracted.' From subdued and ambient to bouncy electronic to powerful weeping guitar solos, this album tells a story with each song that speaks to the soul in a way that few others can."

"I hated it less than your other two albums!"

"Examine your world, but don't let it get you down."

Ace Waters, the mastermind behind "Motive Makes a Man", has really upped the bar on his latest album, "Through a Drop, Refracted". Taking powerful and thought provoking songwriting and combining it with a unique combination of electronic and acoustic instruments, Motive Makes a Man creates an enchanting and extremely fun sound: Electro-Folk. As a multi-instrumentalist, Ace recorded and mixed over 20 unique instruments from analog synths and drum machines, to mandolins and saxophones to create this new album. It is focused, powerful, and moving.
