about

The concept for this album began three years ago. I had just finished Through a Drop, Refracted and I was planning out my next instrumental album. Over the last three years I have worked hard conceptualizing this album. I knew from early on I wanted it to be titled, Duality. I wanted to explore the dualistic nature of seeing the world as both a cynic and a mystic. I had some concepts and experiences I wanted to capture in sound. It took me far longer than I ever expected to pull it all together, but I am happy that I did. I spent those three years making videos every week, which increased my ability to record and mix more than I could have ever imagined, making this my most professional and clear mixed album to date.

The album is broken into two distinct sections, each containing 6 songs. The songs are companions to each other, so track 1 on the Cynic side is a companion piece, both in sound and in concept, to track 1 on the Mystic side. These songs deal with life, death, faith, doubt, friendship, loss, nature and industry. It's a musical journey through the tension of my mind.

I am so excited to share this album with you. I hope you enjoy Duality.
